Home Pre-Procedure Advice
Day of the procedure:
• No caffeine (sorry coffee – lovers)
• No caffeine (sorry coffee-lovers)
• No aspirin or ibuprofen
• You may wear your regular makeup to the appointment… or no makeup
applications 24 hours prior to your treatment.
One day before the procedure:
Starting two weeks before the procedure:
• No exfoliating facial treatments or peels
• No Botox injections
• No use of anti-aging products (which include retinol, retinoic acid, vitamin C, hydroxy acids, niacinamide, etc.) on or near the brows or lip area.
• For lip procedures, clients that are prone to cold sores, needs to take the necessary medication 2 weeks in advance leading up to your appointment and 2 weeks after the procedure.
Starting four weeks before the procedure:
• No use of medical-grade skin resurfacing products on or near the brows, lips.
• No laser skin treatments on or near the brows, eye or lip area dependant on the PMU treatment of choice.
24 hours before
•No Retin-A products or applications 24 hours prior to your treatment.
•No auto-immune therapies or products 24 hours prior to your treatment.
•No prolonged sun exposure to the face 24 hours prior to your treatment. A
Microneedling treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin.
On the day of the treatment
Please keep your face clean and do not apply makeup.
WARNING
If you are taking a blood thinner, aspirin or any other medication that you have the propensity to bleed easily while on, please tell your technician.
If you are under a physician’s care and need to discontinue your medication for a few days, always ask your physician prior to each Microneedling appointment.
If you are planning to receive Botox, make sure that you give yourself at least 2 weeks post Botox injections before receiving your Microneedling procedure.
If an active or extreme breakout occurs before treatment, please consult your
aesthetician.
Wait 6 months following oral isotretinoin use before any microneedling is performed on your skin.
